Ceramic Grade cmc is used in the ground coat and over glaze of ceramic tiles. The good dispersity and protective colloid of CMC can compensate the poor stability and easy precipitation of glaze slip and maintain the glaze body at a stably disperse state.
The addition of CMC can improve the surface tension of glaze material, increase the smoothness of the glaze, and reduce glaze pinholes after sintering.
Method: The general amount of CMC to be added in glaze material is 0.075% to 0.250% and it is adjustable according to temperature change. Generally speaking, it is used less in winter than in summer and in wet or rainy days. Manufacturers should choose the type of CMC according to their own production conditions and technique.
Recommended type: C1002、C1592 、SC1002、SC1592
The application of Ceramic Grade cmc in printed glaze and infiltrated glaze
Application: CMC has excellent water solubility. When dissolving in water, it is transparent and has stable viscosity and good properties of acid resistance, alkali resistance, and salt resistance. It will not stick to the mesh or block it. It can reduce the frequency of mesh scrubbing and make the production of the printed glaze smooth with clear pattern and consistent color.
Recommended type: C0492、C1592
Method(Ceramic Grade cmc): Add 1.5% to 4% of the CMC into the printed glaze. Soak the CMC in glycol, add water to dissolve the soaked CMC, add an appropriate amount of antiseptic, and preserve the mixture airtight.
